1. WHAT IS A CERTIFIED CIVIL TRIAL ATTORNEY?
Of the thirty Javerbaum Wurgaft Attorneys, ten are Certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as Trial Attorney Specialists. Partners Ken Javerbaum, Jack Wurgaft, Bob Hicks, Eric Kahn and David Wikstrom along with Associate Counsel, and Of Counsel Attorneys Ira Zarin, Paul Newell, Jerry Baker, Herb Waldman and Jeffrey Kampf are Certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as Civil Trial Attorneys. Partner Rubin Sinins and Of Counsel Attorney Herb Waldman are Certified as Criminal Trial Attorneys. Of Counsel Attorney Edward Wilson is Certified in Workers Compensation.

Less than 2% of New Jersey's lawyers have been certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as having the special skills, experience and knowledge in trial law that is required to be designated a Certified Trial Attorney.

The certification is based on the State's review of each attorney's trial experience, recommendations of judges and of adversaries, continuing legal education and an intensive written examination.

In addition to our Certified Trial Attorneys, Of Counsel Retired Judge Marguerite Simon is a member of the New Jersey Chapter of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals, and Of Counsel Attorney Jorden Pederson is a Proctor in Admiralty in the Maritime Law Association.
