Springfield, New Jersey -Javerbaum Wurgaft Hicks Kahn Wikstrom & Sinins is pleased to announce that founding partner Jack Wurgaft was recently honored as a Senior Life Fellow of the American Board of Trial Advocates Foundation, an organization dedicated to the preservation of America's justice system and the right to a fair trial by jury. Only attorneys who display skill, civility and integrity, and mentor younger attorneys to achieve a higher level of trial advocacy and help educate the public about the vital importance of the Seventh Amendment right to civil trial, are honored as Senior Life Fellows. Wurgaft is also a past President of this prestigious organization.

Jack Wurgaft is life-long resident of Essex County and has been practicing law as a Certified Civil Trial Attorney focusing on personal injury claims in the local area for more than 35 years. He attended Verona High School and went on to Rutgers University and later, New York Law School. He also holds a Masters of Law degree from New York University. Wurgaft settled in Short Hills, NJ where he lived for more than 23 years. He recently moved to South Orange.
Wurgaft's long and prestigious
career includes membership in the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, which
recognizes attorneys who have demonstrated exceptional skill, experience
and excellence in trial advocacy and have obtained recoveries on behalf
of their clients in excess of one million dollars. Wurgaft is a Master
in the Richard J. Hughes Inns of Court, serves on the Bench-Bar Committees
of both the Union County and Essex County Bars, and is a frequent lecturer
for the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and New Jersey's Institute
for Continuing Legal Education. In 2005, he received the Professional
Lawyer of the Year award from the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism.
In 2006, he was designated as one of the Top 100 "Super Lawyers"
in New Jersey as featured in New Jersey Monthly. Earlier
this year, Wurgaft was named to Lawdragon's "3000 Leading
Plaintiffs' Lawyers in America List," which includes less than 1 percent
of all the lawyers in America. He is a member of the Essex County, Union
County, New Jersey State and American Bar Associations.
Wurgaft has been a member of the ABOTA Foundation since 1997 and has shared the organization's commitment to preserving the constitutional vision of equal justice for all Americans. The Trustees of the Foundation dedicate themselves to providing education concerning the history and value of the right to trial by jury, including a popular junior high and high school educational program called "Justice by the People". The curriculum introduces the concepts and practice of jury trial and is distributed free of charge to schools across the country.
