Stephen Burke
Associate Attorney

Mr. Burke is an associate attorney who has been with Javerbaum since June, 2022. He focuses his practice and is available for consultation in the areas of medical malpractice, premises liability, auto accidents, slip-and-falls, nursing home negligence, and personal injury matters, generally.
He is also heavily involved in Javerbaum’s growing civil rights practice, working under and assisting the firm’s senior litigators in matters involving police brutality resulting in serious injury and death in both State and Federal Courts.
Mr. Burke also has extensive experience representing clients in municipal court matters throughout the State of New Jersey including DUI, drug possession, and traffic violation cases.
Mr. Burke is from the South Jersey/ greater Philadelphia area. He earned his B.A. in History from Boston University, graduating in 2007. He attended Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, DE earning his J.D. in 2012. He was admitted to the New Jersey State Bar in 2012 after successful completion of the Bar Exam.
Mr. Burke was privileged to have the opportunity to serve as Judicial Law Clerk to the Hon. Walter Marshall, in the New Jersey Superior Court, Criminal Division, in Gloucester County, NJ. This 1 year position was an invaluable introduction to the Justice System and the practice of law.
During law school, Mr. Burke clerked for a well respected small firm in South Jersey that focuses heavily on medical malpractice and personal injury litigation with a strong emphasis on trial work. Upon completion of the Judicial Clerkship, Mr. Burke was hired as a full time associate in 2013 and gained 6 years of valuable experience litigating medical malpractice and personal injury cases as well as handling a large portion of the firm’s Municipal Court matters.
More recently, Mr. Burke worked with a small, general practice law firm in Cherry Hill, NJ and was developing the firm’s personal injury practice as senior litigation associate representing clients from Intake to Trial prior to being offered this exciting opportunity at Javerbaum.
Mr. Burke understands the importance of the attorney/client relationship and places emphasis on accessibility. He strives to provide clients with direct, accurate, and honest advice on legal issues which are often unfamiliar, unpleasant, and understandably confusing and upsetting for those with no prior experience with the law.
He is mindful of the very serious nature of the issues inherent in medical malpractice, personal injury and civil rights litigation and is proud to advocate for clients who need assistance with obtaining the fair compensation that they deserve.
