Javerbaum Wurgaft is pleased to announce the addition of Amy C. Winters as Of Counsel in its Voorhees, New Jersey office. Ms. Winters is a practicing attorney and retired law enforcement leader with a unique combination of public service, and strategic leadership. A magna cum laude graduate of Rutgers School of Law–Camden and admitted to practice in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania since 2001, Amy brings more than two decades of experience in law enforcement and the legal field to her current focus on mass torts and complex litigation.
Before returning to the practice of law, Amy served with distinction in the Cherry Hill Police Department, retiring at the rank of Captain after 25 years of honorable service. Her commitment to leadership and excellence was recognized early in her career. She graduated first in her class from the prestigious West Point Command and Leadership Program and completed advanced training at the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command in Philadelphia.
While assigned to various positions in law enforcement, Amy also worked for ten years as a law clerk at a plaintiffs-side law firm, concentrating on product liability and personal injury matters. She was tasked with reviewing cases law and preparing memos for various attorneys. This unique dual career gave her deep insight into both the investigative and legal dimensions of complex civil cases. Additionally, her ability to understand and respond to people’s emotions, particularly in high-stakes situations allowed her to develop a deep sense of empathy through interactions with diverse individuals, often in moments of vulnerability or conflict.
Today, Amy applies that wealth of experience in her legal practice, where she is known for her meticulous attention to detail, strategic case analysis, and fierce advocacy on behalf of clients. Her current work centers on mass torts and complex litigation, areas where her investigative background and litigation experience offer a distinct advantage.
