Steven H. Merman

Steven H. Merman graduated with a B.A. in Law & Society from American University in 1982 and from Seton Hall University Law School in 1985. After law school, he was Law Clerk to the Honorable Milton Feller, Superior Court of New Jersey, Law Division from 1985–1986. While Clerking for Judge Feller he obtained a Certificate in Municipal Land Use from Rutgers University and had the great fortune to be taught Municipal Land Use Law be one of the foremost experts in the field.
After completing his clerkship Steve spent a great portion of his career representing governmental entities including serving as a Zoning Board of Adjustment Attorney and Municipal Prosecutor for nearly 25 years. Before Joining the Firm he was a fulltime Assistant County Counsel for the County of Union, also serving for 4 years as the Director for the Division of Planning and Community Development.
Steve has a vast background in all areas of Local Municipal Law and Land Use Development, including all Land Use Litigation.
