Judge Walsh served as a Superior Court Judge for fifteen years, from 2010-2025, serving in the Family and Civil Divisions, including as the Presiding Judge of the Family Part. While serving in the Family Division, Judge Walsh presided over thousands of divorce matters. During his time in the Civil Division, he was designated as the Complex Commercial Judge and Complex Construction Law Judge. Prior to his appointment to the bench, he began his career as an Assistant Union County Prosecutor, and for fifteen years in private practice, where he litigated both Family and Civil Matters, including more than fifty jury trials. During his time on the bench, Judge Walsh has taught continuing legal education courses for ICLE, the New Jersey State Bar Association, the New Jersey Association for Justice, and at the annual Judicial College. In addition, he was appointed by the Chief Justice of the New Jersey Supreme Court to serve on the Supreme Court Committee on Judicial Education. Finally, Judge Walsh was the recipient of the McCloud Award by the Union County Bar Association, in recognition of his dedication to ensuring justice for family law litigants.
