Javerbaum Wurgaft Hicks Kahn Wikstrom & Sinins, PC, sadly announces the passing of our founding partner, Jack Wurgaft. Jack was the consummate professional renowned for his graciousness, generosity, wit and wisdom. Jack was respected by both plaintiff and defense counsel, indeed by the entire New Jersey legal community.
“I am profoundly saddened and heartbroken at the passing of my longtime friend and partner. Jack and I founded the Firm in 1978 as a neighborhood focused law practice helping the members of our community,” says Kenneth Javerbaum. “Early on, Jack and I became certified in civil litigation and began receiving referrals from other attorneys, helping us become one of the leading personal injury law firms in the state.”
“It goes without saying that Jack was beloved by everyone he met,” adds Javerbaum.
“We mourn the loss of our dearest friend and colleague,” says Eric G. Kahn, Managing Shareholder. “We will ensure that his name lives on through the JW Charitable Foundation. On a personal note, Jack took me under his wing when I was a mere law clerk, mentoring me every step of the way. Jack had no ego or agenda. He wanted everyone to succeed.”
Our condolences to Jack’s wife, Ruth, son Matthew and daughter Emily.
The extended Javerbaum Wurgaft family has lost a true friend and patriarch. He will be missed by all.
